Melanocytic Nevus of Ciliary Body (#1), Histology
This melanocytic nevus extends into the trabecular meshwork (arrow). An Axenfeld-loop simulates extrascleral extension. It consists of benign melanocytes that follow a ciliary nerve to nearly the surface of the sclera (arrow). The preoperative diagnosis of malignant melanoma was excluded through histologic examination.
